Resounding the military march :" Fatherland and Soldiers"

 

(Reporter) On the occasion of the 63rd founding anniversary of the People's Army of Vietnam, the 35th anniversary of the great victory of Dien Bien Phu in the air and 18th anniversary of People's National Defense Day: Ministry of Defense, the General Political Department, People's Army Newspaper, Vietnam Television (Live television) and Fatherland Media JSC jointly organized Performance Art Exchange Program - "The Fatherland and soldiers" to reappear immortal songs praising the glorious Communist Party, heroic military and to exchange with the generals in the Vietnam People's Army, who are the historic witnesses directly participating in and contributing to the great victory of Dien Bien Phu in the air in December 1972. Especially, in this program, the moving exchanges and meetings shall occurred and on this occasion, the glorious feats of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the peacetime for their sacrificing to save people in floods and their braveness in the battle of drug prevention were honoured.

 


The hall of Ministry of Defense in the evening of December 22, 2007 was lighted with a glorious pride of the traditional day of the Vietnam People's Army. Right before the performance, commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the agencies of the Ministry of Defense, services, Thu Do military zones, and underlying units. Especially, it was the honour for the program to welcome the participation of the Leaders of the Party and the Government, Fatherland Front and numerous agencies of Hanoi and localities nationwide. The time-slot of 120 minutes of the program seemed too short to recur the glorious history, brilliant feats of arm shaking over the world by the Vietnam People's Army throughout its history's length. The songs praising the fatherland, heroic army seem to strengthen the love for the fatherland and courageous spirit and determination for protecting the every inch of land imbued with sweat, blood and the bones of Vietnam's generations.


War has receded for more than 30 years; the fatherland is changing and developing daily. Quality of the Uncle Ho's soldiers whose mission is to fight for the country's independence and peace in any phases of the history has always been highly appreciated. They are both brave soldiers in the battle fighting against the enemy to protect the fatherland in wartime and excellent soldiers in socio-economic activities in peacetime.  With the tradition that "giving a helping hand to those who less for time" and "Love your neighbour as yourself", the program raised the total amount of approximately 6 billion dong from domestic and oversea donors to the Comrade's Fund to assist disadvantaged wounded soldiers' families, servicemen and servicewomen, veterans, victims of Agent Orange dioxin in Vietnam.
